Match Preview - Petershill

Blantyre make their second trip to Petershill Park of the season tomorrow with much at stake in their promotion push.

When the sides meet in Blantyre back in September, the Vics put on a dominant display running out 4 - 0 winners. In November in the opening round of the West of Scotland Cup it was a much closer contest. The Vics took the lead through a Dale Jones penalty before Scott Anson scored from the spot twice to bring the home-side into the lead, but this lead was short lived as Gavin Millar's equaliser forced a penalty shoot-out. Liam Campbell saved an incredible three penalties in the shoot-out to send the Vics through to the next round.

Of course today the odds will be in favour of the visitors given their recent run of form, winning their last twelve league games. Their only defeat since August has come at the hands of Darvel in the Scottish Junior Cup.

Petershill lasted longer in the Junior Cup, meeting Darvel in the last 16. A last-gasp equaliser from the Peasy forced a replay. In the replay in Ayrshire Petershill faired well, taking an early lead, before Darvel winning it 2 - 1. So despite their 12th placed position in the league, the Vics will still be worried of an upset today.
